Related to training

An important part of the Reproductive Biotechnology practices are carried out within the CEP facilities, aimed at students in the second cycle of Agricultural Engineering at the UdL. The practices are related to swine reproduction and especially to the collection of ejaculates, the assessment of semen quality, the control of sow ovulation, the preparation of seminal doses, swine artificial insemination, and pregnancy control.

The CEP is also open to collaboration with vocational training centers so that their students can carry out internships at the Center's facilities. The CEP teaches different courses, seminars and conferences related to the pig sector, such as strategic management in intensive livestock farming, animal welfare, transportation, etc. Aimed at professionals in the sector.

Related to private companies

The CEP is open to collaboration with different private companies related to the pork sector, both in the productive aspect and in others.

Collaborations are being carried out that refer to the entire topic of artificial insemination, with the Center assuming the technical functions of laboratory analysis.

Related to information collection

The CEP is creating a database of the different areas of knowledge related to the pig sector as a whole, from production to marketing, including the environment and animal welfare.
