Operations research has been applied to solve agricultural and forestry management problems for decades. The allocation of resources on farms, the determination of a diet to feed animals at a minimum cost, or the planning of forest areas to cut down are examples of them.

The primary purpose of the Working Group on Operations Research in Agriculture and Forest Management is to foster communication and research among small groups of members who specialize in particular topics. The Working Group is open to people from different backgrounds (such as industry, academia, etc.) interested in OR (Operations Research) methods and their application in agriculture and forestry management to exchange ideas, experiences, and results. research. In this context, we invite everyone interested in this topic to join us.

The group started in 2003 and is part of the Association of European Operations Research Societies (EURO).
